I'd like to get the ctrl+v keyboard shortcut working again in Word. Also, I just did a full NAV (Norton Antivirus 2006 ver 14) scan with today's definitions and not problems found. And it doesn't have anything to do with the recent Windows Update XP patch (KB951748)-Zone Alarm problem as it occurred prior to that and I have since updated Zone Alarm and installed all the monthly Windows XP patches. You’ll probably have to click the Enable experimental console features checkbox first though. And then click Enable new Ctrl key shortcuts. All you have to do to get copy and paste working in Windows 10 is to right-click on the command prompt’s title bar, choose Properties. I wasn't doing anything other than working in Word on a document & I didn't install anything new when this first occurred. Enabling CTRL + C and CTRL + V in Windows 10. The alternative keyboard shortcuts for copy, cut & paste - ctrl+ins, shift+del, & shift+ins all work fine in Word, Excel, Notepad. The ctrl key itself works fine, & the 'v' key works fine, I don't think there is a keyboard failure, just a selective failure of ctrl+v in Word. Adding more details on this as I'm having the same issue where Ctrl+v doesn't paste: uname -r 4.19.2-arch1-1-ARCH xev -event keyboard KeyPress event, serial 28, synthetic NO, window 0x4c00001, root 0x10f, subw 0x0, time 17157210, (81,-232), root: (952,253), state 0x0, keycode 37. Also, I can paste fine in Word by clicking the menu shortcut icon paste clipboard on the top margin and by viewing the clipboard itself and pasting from there by clicking the icon. This only happens in Microsoft Word (version 2000). ctrl+c works fine, so do other shortcuts involving the control key. Both ctrl keys on the keyboard are affected (neither will paste). I have rebooted my computer a number of times. The ctrl+v keyboard shortcut (paste function) stopped working a few days ago. I'm looking to restore a keyboard shortcut that has stopped working suddenly.
